Pete Seeger endured attacks for his beliefs and for asserting his right to free speech. He also weathered charges of being un-American when he was investigated by the House Un-American Activities Committee, HUAC.
Yet, Seeger got the last laugh when he was presented the Library of Congress Living Legend Award in April 2000.

Perhaps it is fitting that a hero who dedicated his life to preserving American folk music, speaking out for the rights of working people and for oppressed peoples, and becoming an activist to preserve Mother Earth would have three sharply different biographies.
