Summer is the season of sun, sand, and the inevitable, "Mom, I'm bored!" School is out, and kids are looking for the next fun thing to do. Parents shudder at the thought of having to keep their children occupied. At the Jersey Shore, the fun extends beyond the beach. Families will discover a variety of activities that will keep even the most restless, hard-to-please child content.
A Couple of Amusement Parks for Kids
Ocean City is a mecca for kid-friendly entertainment. The Boardwalk is a great place to start. The Ocean City Boardwalk is lined with t-shirts shops, pizza joints, and custard stands, but the most kid-friendly attraction by far is Gillian's Wonderland Pier.
This family-run amusement park features rides that will please both younger and older children. The Thomas-like train monorail that circles the park is a favorite among toddlers, while the log flume thrills school-aged kids. The giant ferris wheel is a popular attraction that can be seen for miles around. Many (but not all) of the kiddie rides allow adults to accompany the little ones. Gillian's Wonderland provides fun for the whole family.
