Music Legends Put Faith In Next Generation To Cover Favorites
The incredible idea behind the album War Child Heroes is following: the organizers asked some of music history's biggest legends to select a track from their own catalogue and then nominate an artist from the next generation to create a modern re-working of that classic song. In essence, this was musical legends placing their faith in the next generation.
David Bowie And Paul McCartney First To Support
Two of the absolute giants of the music industry - Paul McCartney and David Bowie - were the first to throw their support behind the project. The former Beatle McCartney chose Welsh singer Duffy to cover "Live And Let Die". And Bowie selected the classic song "Heroes" and asked New York art-rock group TV On The Radio to come up with a cover version.
